The Space Development Steering Committee has included the second astronaut on the moon, Buzz Aldrin, the sixth astronaut on the moon Edgar Mitchell, the designer of the Apollo Program’s Lunar Landers Hubert P. Davis, the former Chief of the Future Science and Technology Exploration Branch of the US Air Force Peter Garretson, the National Science Foundation Program Director for Control, Networks & Computational Intelligence Paul Werbos, NASA-Ames’ Bruce Pittman, former NASA Senior Aerospace Engineer, Head of Risk Assessment and Management at Goddard Space Flight Center Feng Hsu, former Boeing Phantom Works’ Ed McCullough, Air Force Research Laboratory veteran James Michael Snead, and the world’s leading expert on space solar power, 25-year NASA veteran John Mankins. The Space Development Steering Committee has also included the heads of the National Space Society, the Space Frontier Foundation, and the Mars Society.

Founder of the Space Development Steering Committee is Howard Bloom, the man Britain’s Channel4 TV calls “the Einstein, Darwin, Newton and Freud of the 21st century” and Gear Magazine says, “may just be the next Stephen Hawking.”  Bloom is a former visiting scholar at NYU’s Graduate Psychology Department, a former Core Faculty Member at the Graduate Institute, and the author of six books including The Lucifer Principle: A Scientific Expedition Into the Forces of History (“mesmerizing”—The Washington Post) and Global Brain: The Evolution of Mass Mind From The Big Bang to the 21st Century (“reassuring and sobering”—The New Yorker).  Bloom is currently co-designing a multi-planetary mission funded by the Keck Institute for Space Studies at Caltech.
